We miss Braenedin. We miss the views, the mountains, the trees, the air, the comfiest bed I know, the chilled-ness that comes over the whole family when we are there. Edinburgh's a brilliant place to be during lockdown but I'm still yearning for some Braenedin.
This was to be our busiest spring and summer yet and I know that there are plenty of people disappointed in their plans to come to the Cairngorms. Some families who had booked to come to Braenedin managed to postpone to the same time next year. Others we returned any deposits/payment. They all hope to be able to make it sometime in the near-ish future and we've opened booking further ahead than normal to make it easier for people planning their holidays next year.
We were last at Braenedin in December. We had our first ever Christmas there and were joined by our parents. There was no skiing to be had but lots of walks in the frozen surroundings followed by games by the fire and more food and drink than necessary. Speyside Properties, our fabulous management company, had decorated the house beautifully and, although your sat nav maybe not be able to find Braenedin, you'll be pleased to hear Santa's can!
Well before lockdown Speyside Properties were deep cleaning the cottage (even more than usual) between guests. Once restrictions have been eased, and we're allowed to open up again, rest assured they will be doing their utmost to make sure guests will be coming into a scrupulously clean environment.
Just baggsie go first!
